    April 15, 2022

First birthday party themes are my favourite! It's fun to BEE one is a cute bee themed party for boys or girls to celebrate their bee-day! I loved incorporating the colours yellow, black and green, to remind people of a sunny field of flowers, abuzz with bees.

12 days of Christmas – Reindeer Food

    December 24, 2020

A sprinkle of magic Reindeer Food on Christmas Eve is guaranteed to help Santa and his reindeer find your house to deliver presents! While you can buy some in shops now, it's not always animal friendly (please, don't use glitter!!), and it's so easy to make some yourself instead. Whip some of this up and be sure to sprinkle it on the lawn before bedtime on Christmas Eve.

Week 1 of school holidays done! We are lucky to ge Week 1 of school holidays done! We are lucky to get 3 weeks off mid-year, so we made the most of the smaller crowds and hit up some theme parks. Holoverse, HOTA, playgrounds, Currumbin Sanctuary, Paradise Country, and playgroup. Lots of fun adventures! Looking forward to week 2 👊
The newest Children's Gallery is now open at @hota The newest Children's Gallery is now open at @hotagc just in time for the school holidays!

Sunny and happy holiday dreams come true in Postcards from the Edge. There’s no need to travel any further than HOTA’s Children's Gallery where artist Martin Edge’s colourful paintings are brought to life. Holiday vibes abound in Martin’s beach scenes, where you can climb a giant sandcastle, visit his souvenir shop and create your own holiday mementos to take home.

Don't forget the paid Bricktionary Exhibit is still open until 7 August too, so there is heaps to do on a day at HOTA these school holidays!

@healthy_gemz_cafe at @thewelluppercoomera serves @healthy_gemz_cafe at @thewelluppercoomera serves up delicious tasting coffee, slices and cakes, as well as breakfast and lunch options catering for a variety of tastebuds including kids lunch packs! My favourite part however is the small gated play area for the kids!

This open air (but covered) cafe is the perfect spot to take the kids for a bite to eat. Packed full of healthy, raw treats, you don’t have to feel guilty about some sweet treats here. Kids will love the lunch packs that come with either a wrap, sandwich or a croissant, as well as a choc brownie, yoghurt, fruit salad and cheese crackers and apple juice.

Just a few metres from Healthy Gemz cafe tables you’ll find a gated play space for the kids. Simple but effective, with a cubby, see saw and a few other toys, there is plenty of room here for the kids to burn some energy while you sit back and relax with your coffee. The only down side is that there is no shade cover over it, so if it’s a really hot day or raining it’s not the best spot for the kids.

Wednesday is fast becoming one of my favourite day Wednesday is fast becoming one of my favourite days! A morning free to adventure as we please, just me and my littlest 💙 usually the poor child gets dragged around wherever his brother wants to go, but with him at kindy we can take things slow and explore from the eyes of a 14mth old! Playgrounds are definitely a favourite 🎠 where should we try next, what's your fave thing to do with the little ones!?
We visited this great little playground last week We visited this great little playground last week and it was a huge hit with my 4yo! Quota Park in Biggera Waters is a fabulous nautical themed playground with plenty of imaginative play elements.

Climb the giant net up to the crows nest and pretend you’re sailing a pirate ship on the high seas. Continue the pirate play and climb the smaller tower and boat, walking the narrow swing bridges and playing on the 2 slides. If pirate play isn’t for your kids, the taller tower has a corner store shopfront and the kids will love playing shop!

Quota Park’s playground also has swings, a see saw and a spinner, as well as a few interactive panels along the lower levels of the play equipment to cater to younger children. The perfect spot for a picnic, there are 2 picnic shelters with BBQs nearby. Unfortunately there are no public toilets and carparking nearby is very limited, especially on weekends. It’s a shame, because this really is a great park!

If you visit on the weekend, why not park at Harley Park Labrador and take a short 15-20min walk along the foreshore to Quota Park - perfect for the kids bikes too!

The first day of Winter is officially here, and on The first day of Winter is officially here, and one of the most asked questions I get this time of year is what can we do with the kids when the temperature drops?

The second child. My dramatic one, my adventurous The second child. My dramatic one, my adventurous one. He feels things deeply, expresses his emotions strongly and is as curious as they come. The complete opposite to my first child.

Where my first child doesn't love having his hands dirty, my second child crawled straight into the slime tray (notably, the one tray I was hoping he wouldn't go for 🤣).

A morning spent exploring his senses, tasting and feeling all sorts of new things was right up his alley. So much so he ended up looking like my very own sprinkle coated cupcake!!

Happy 1st birthday @mightymesskids, we had a ball celebrating with you!
A cafe with a playground - we're there! @nobbyssha A cafe with a playground - we're there! @nobbysshack4218 at Mermaid Beach is a rare unicorn in the world of parent-friendly cafes, and once word gets out this is going to be THE place for cafe dates with children in tow.

From the front, you could be mistaken for thinking Nobbys Shack is just a small ‘juice bar’ style cafe. However, take a short walk past the cafe tables to the doorway at the back of the cafe and you’ll find a large open air deck filled with picnic tables and a playground! Grab a spot in the sun and let the kids play while you enjoy your coffee. Serving up a delicious menu for breakfast, lunch or dinner (check opening hours), you’ll find a great range of meals made from fresh, whole foods.

Nobbys Shack is really building a community space, not just with the children’s playground but also holding community events. Join them every Wednesday night for Open Mic night and enjoy dinner with a cocktail, or head in on a Tuesday at 9.30am for their Mums & Bubs bootcamp!
