My favourite place on the Gold Coast, Burleigh Heads has welcomed its first dedicated dessert bar – Oh My, Waffle! Yep, the home of the bikini body is now tempting us with high-sugar, high-calorie goodness, and I couldn’t be happier!
With a menu that includes names such as ‘Alice in Wonderland’, ‘Kinder before Tinder’ and my favourite, ‘Straight outta Burleigh’ (golden waffle topped with strawberries, brownie pieces, melted Whittaker’s Creamy Milk chocolate, ice cream & whipped cream), the hardest part will be deciding which one to sample! Vegans are also catered for, with two vegan-friendly options ‘Its Banana’s’ and ‘The Halle Berries’.
Not a fan of waffles? Never to worry, there is also a range of drool-worthy milkshakes to choose from – ‘The Real Slim Shakey’ (crushed Oreo’s, rimmed with Oreos, topped with whipped cream & Cookies and Cream chocolate) would be my pick, or the ‘It’s a Piece of Cake’ for any Birthday outings. As the weather begins to cool down, you can also start to sample the decadent hot chocolates!
Kick back and devour your sugary treat at one of the cute tables and chairs set amongst some insta-worthy wall art (#screwthediet), or feel a little bit better about yourself by getting it to-go and walking over to Burleigh Hill to enjoy as you watch the fit surfers and runners pass you by (#fitspo).
