Reedy Care Op Shop is more than just a second hand goods store – it’s also a great little community spot with plenty on offer for families! Drop in for coffee & cake while the kids play in the playground, visit on a playgroup day to make new friends, or pick up a couple of bargain priced toys, clothes and books for yourself or the kids.
Located at Reedy Creek Baptist Church, the Op Shop, Cafe & Playground are open Mon-Fri, 9am -3pm (and til 6pm on Thursday!). From the front you’ll arrive and it seems like any other Op Shop, but head to the back of the store to find a small coffee and cake stand, serving barista coffee and delicious treats. You can grab a seat inside in the air conditioning, or head out the back to the large, fully fenced children’s play area!
Set on astroturf and under a large shade sail, there are tables and chairs scattered around to relax on while the kids play. Kids will love the playground with tunnel and slide, climbing frame and sandpit with toys. It’s great for young children who can run around and play to their hearts content while you can easily supervise from the sidelines.
Playgroup runs every Tuesday during school term from 9-11am, and is for children aged 0-5yrs ($3 for 1 child, $5 for 2 or more children). Playgroup has exclusive use of the playground when it is on, and everyone is welcome to join.
This is definitely a great spot for a mum’s group catch up, or just a moment to grab yourself a coffee while the kids burn some energy!
