    Rainy day activities for Gold Coast Kids

    Rainy days are usually few and far between on the Gold Coast, so when the rain does set in, we’re often scrambling for indoor activities for kids to keep occupied. I’ve rounded up some of the best spots on the Gold Coast to eat, activities to do and things to see that are indoors, family and kid friendly, and out of the rain!

    Mini & Me Coffee Shop, Mudgeeraba

    Mini & Me Coffee Shop at Mudgeeraba has opened its doors, with a cozy cafe space perfect for families! Grab a seat inside nearby the playroom, or sit on the deck by the cubby house. A huge variety of fresh foods on the menu, and plenty of child-friendly options with an extensive kids menu. This place doesn't just think about the kids, it puts them front and centre!

    Tweed Regional Museum, Murwillumbah

    Tucked away in Murwillumbah you’ll find the Tweed Regional Museum which showcases the natural and social history of the Tweed area. This is a small but modern museum, filled with fun and engaging exhibits, including two permanent and one that changes seasonally. It’s FREE to visit, and a great spot to spend a morning with the kids.

    Doodlebugs Indoor Playcentre, Miami

    Doodlebugs is the Gold Coast's oldest indoor play centre, and very popular with the locals. Smaller in size, it's easy to keep an eye on the kids no matter where they are, which means enjoying that coffee in peace or actually having a conversation with your friend! Play areas for the little ones, larger play areas with air shooters, a car track and a train are all part of the fun here.

    Daisy Hill State Forest & Koala Centre

    Daisy Hill State Forest and Koala Centre is a fabulous, free centre that you can visit to learn more about our endangered koalas. Packed with interactive displays, here you can learn about what they eat, where they live, their social aspects and also how we can care for them. Situated within the Daisy Hill State Forest, this is a great spot for a picnic with friends - visit the koala centre, ride your bike, play in the bush, and enjoy time in nature.

    The Junction GC, Burleigh Heads

    The Junction GC at Burleigh Heads is a fantastic family friendly cafe, with gated play space and relaxing atmosphere. Grab a coffee to go, settle in for a morning tea get together with your mums group, or catch up on those work emails while the kids are occupied for a few minutes. Service is outstanding, delivered with a smile and zero hassle!
