Chipmunks Playland & Café Pimpama is everything a parent could want in an indoor play centre: light, bright, clean, engaging and, most importantly, fun. Suitable for children aged walking–12 years, I’d say it caters particularly well to the walking–6 age group, with plenty of exciting equipment and interactive elements that aren’t commonly found at other Gold Coast play centres.
The Chipmunks brand is well known, with locations across South East Queensland, but the Pimpama venue is easily one of my favourite indoor play centres on the Gold Coast. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted by a bright, welcoming space with plenty of café seating for parents and carers. One of the standout features is the layout. Rather than being deep and sprawling, the playground runs the length of the building, creating excellent sightlines and making it much easier to keep track of your children wherever they are playing.
The play centre is divided into two main areas: a large playground for all ages and a smaller enclosed space designed specifically for children aged four and under. There’s also a dedicated ball pit zone featuring interactive walls, air cannons and ball machines that will entertain children of all ages. This is one of the standout features of Chipmunks Pimpama that I really loved.
The main playground is packed with interactive features, including flying foxes, disco floors, light-up panels, ninja-style obstacles, mirror mazes and an additional ball pit. Meanwhile, the younger children’s area includes an interactive slide, a neon-lit slide, a merry-go-round and plenty of soft play climbing equipment designed for little adventurers.
The café menu is surprisingly substantial, whether you’re stopping in for a coffee and cake or looking for a more substantial lunch. The children’s meals are also thoughtfully designed and reasonably priced, making it easy to stay for an extended play session.
Whether you’re planning a birthday party, meeting friends for a catch-up, or simply looking for a place for the kids to burn off some energy, Chipmunks Pimpama is a great option in the indoor playground line up.
