Kids Take Over is HOTA’s mini fest taking place Wednesday 27 - Saturday 30 September, during the School Holidays. With a program bursting indoors and out, Kids Take Over is designed for kids and by kids, and features a combination of free and ticketed workshops, visual arts experiences, performances, and everything in between.

The HOTA Gallery may be designed to cater for international art exhibitions, but families haven't been forgotten! The Children's Gallery at HOTA Gallery lets little artists get hands on in this creative space and discover interactive exhibits that complement the main galleries.

Fingal Head Coastal Walk & Lighthouse
The coastal walk along Fingal Head where the lighthouse sits, has to be one of my favourite! With minimal crowds, picture perfect views and plenty of spots to sit and relax, this is a great family friendly coastal walk. Points of attraction here include the Fingal Head Lighthouse, built in 1872, and Australia's very own Giants Causeway.

Warrandyte Park, Upper Coomera
Warrandyte Park at Upper Coomera is a fun truck themed park with a great slide! Built on a hill, the playground is on one level and follow a short path up the hill, you'll find a picnic shelter with views over the playground and access to the slide.

Bellinger Park, Pacific Pines
Bellinger Park at Pacific Pines is a perfect playground for the younger kids, with easy access equipment and a cute little trike track too!

Roma Park, Isle of Capri
Roma Park at Isle of Capri is a fun park for climbing! With two playgrounds - a new, modern one and an older one that was kept following an upgrade - there is a lot here for varying age groups. Roma Park is also home to a sports field, with an outdoor gym too.

Marine Discovery Centre, Hastings Point
The Marine Discovery Centre is located within the North Star Holiday Resort complex at Hastings Point, and is one of Australia’s largest, privately funded museums. It has world class marine and coastal science displays focused on the local Hastings Point ecosystem, and you have the opportunity to get hands on with rockpool inhabitants.
