Tickets to many events have gone on sale TODAY to the General Public, so check out the program and make those bookings! Some of my favourite events to check out are: - @Kalfreshveggies Carrot Day: Saturday 21 June. Exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of one of Queensland’s largest and busiest carrot farms. See how carrots are grown, harvested, washed, and packed in the “wet & wild” factory. Meet the farmers, get up close to the tractors, and pick your own carrots to take home. Fun for carrot lovers of all ages. Cost: $22pp, $17 students, child under 5 free - Veggie Picking with the Farmer: @valleyprideproduce : Sunday 8 June & 29 June. Harvest fresh veggies with the Scholl family, learn how they grow their produce, ask questions, and take home your veggies for a delicious, homegrown dinner. This all-ages adventure offers a true farm experience—come be a farmer for the day! Cost: $25pp, $10 student, $60 family of four, child under 11 free - Edible Flower Picking and Cupcake Decorating @elderflower_farm_qld : 31 May, 7, 14 & 21 June. Enjoy a guided tour of the edible flower beds at Elderflower Farm, learning all about edible flowers while handpicking your favourites. Then, unleash your creativity by icing and decorating gluten-free cupcakes with your blooms, ready to take home or enjoy on the day. Cost: $35pp - Winter Solstice Campfire Cookout Frost Farm: 21 June. As the sun goes down, gather ‘round the fire to celebrate the Winter Solstice with @birdwingsnature Forest School. Prepare delicious homemade dishes like hearty vegetable soup, homemade damper and other campfire treats. Then make paper lanterns and enjoy creek-side play before coming together for a fireside feast. A heartwarming evening for the whole family. Cost: $23pp, child under 2 free
School is back and so are the term-time toddler pr School is back and so are the term-time toddler programs on offer across the Gold Coast! The options are endless! If your little one is home with you during the week, check out some of these free and low-cost weekday activities. @westfieldhelensvale: The FREE Kids Club runs in the Playground every Monday, Wednesday and Friday of the school term, sessions include Musical Munchkins, Kids in the Kitchen, and Creative Kids. @robinatowncentre: Head along on Wednesday’s for Music, Movement & Sensory Play! These fun-filled sessions with @makingrainbows_gc, are $9.50 each and bookings are essential. On Friday’s, you can play, dance and sing along with Fairy Ani for Story Rhyme Time @westfieldcoomera: Little Coomera Kids shine with free and fun workshops. Groovin' Juniors with @bopit.tots is in the Community Hub on Tuesdays. $5/session, bookings essential @bopittots in addition to their sessions at Westfield, run community music and movement sessions at Varsity Lakes on Friday, and Kirra on Monday. Tickets are $15/session, bookings essential. @the.messy.place: Located in Ashmore, there are multiple creative play sessions daily. Sessions are $22.50 each and run for 1.5hrs. Sessions include messy play, sensory play and other creative options. Upcoming themes are dinosaurs, transport, under the sea and construction! @activfutures: multi-sports sessions on Tuesday in Parkwood and Friday in Pimpama. $15/child, for ages 3-10yrs. There is a different focus sport each week, bookings essential. @activehealthygoldcoast: The Council’s Active & Healthy program has a range of activities for children 1-6yrs. It includes sports, dance, yoga and meditation. Classes are mostly free, with some around $5-$10/session. @gclibraries Toddler Rhyme Time & Story Time: the Gold Coast Libraries offer Family Time programming across all branches, with a session on each of the week depending on where you visit. Rhyme Time caters for early walkers through to 4-year-olds. Storytime is for all ages. @sprout.and.bloom_ nature play offer outdoor nature sensory sessions in Pimpama on Tuesday and occasional pop up sessions on other days. Sessions are $15 each, bookings are essential.

We all know how hard it can be to eat out with kids – often the sooner a meal out is complete, the better! However, there are so many places that are making eating out for families a much better experience – kids eat free, kids meals, kids entertainment, high chairs and priority service are just a few things that restaurants are offering in order to woo you over and get you dining with them. As always, best to check with the venue when booking in case things have changed – just in case! RSL Australia has shared some ideas to pay your respects to our veterans that are easy, affordable and appropriate regardless of the age of your children. 1- Attend an ANZAC Day event together There's no greater way to honour the ANZACs than by commemorating together as a family at your local service. If you swipe across, you'll find a listing of all the Dawn Services, Marches and Commemorative Services that are occurring across the Gold Coast. 2 - Bake some delicious ANZAC biscuits Why not whip up this easy and tasty afternoon tea classic to share? Get your kids in the kitchen to help with measuring, mixing and taste testing! After cooking up a storm together, share the history of ANZAC biscuits with your little helpers over a cuppa. Not only will they learn about the origins of these delicious snacks, but they will gain an appreciation of their significance on these commemorative days. 3 - Plant a rosemary bush at home Did you know that rosemary is ANZAC Day’s traditional symbol of remembrance? Rosemary is an abundant, low maintenance and evergreen plant – perfect for even the most novice gardeners – and a flavourful addition to your homecooked meals. 4 - Share stories and family history Many families share a proud history of service, often memorialised through stories and artefacts. ANZAC Day is the perfect opportunity to pass these histories down to younger generations. You can also explore your family history through the National Archives of Australia’s Defence and War Service Records. 5 - Get creative to commemorate If your kids love arts and crafts, why not organise some fun activities to help them unleash their inner Picasso while also commemorating ANZAC Day? Owned and operated by a Gold Coast family, this arcade is packed with the latest and the greatest, as well as some old family favourites. They cater for toddlers right through to adults, and everyone is guaranteed to have fun when they visit. There are your traditional arcade video games on cars and motorbikes, physical games like the hammer boppers and combo games where you use water or lasers to interact with the video games. Crank the wheels or spin the dice to win tickets, go crazy in the ball drop, shoot some hoops, or try out bowling. Don't miss the carnival style games like ring toss and knock down the bottles too! You've seen the playground, but have you seen the You've seen the playground, but have you seen the Gold Coast's newest and best pedal park at Greenheart Robina Parklands?? Yes that's right, not only is the new Parklands home to that epic new playground, but there's also a bike track! Perfect for beginner to intermediate riders, this steps things up from the smaller learn to ride tracks and tests their riding ability in a safe and controlled environment! With bumpy grids to ride over, various sized humps to conquer, gentle slopes and bends, kids will be able to fine tune their riding skills while also remembering to keep left and practice overtaking. There's plenty of seating and shade umbrellas for the parents too. Once they've had enough of the track, there are also plenty of wide paths through the Parklands to ride around. There's also a glimpse of the basketball court and gym equipment!
One thing I'm often asked - "what theme park passe One thing I'm often asked - "what theme park passes should my family buy!?" We're spoiled for choice here on the Gold Coast, and my family usually switches around between the different passes depending on available sales, park upgrades and the age of my kids. Currently, we hold Dreamworld and Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary passes for our family with 4 and 7 year olds. This month as part of the LOVEGC sales, we took the chance to renew our annual membership with @nationaltrustqld for a discount, which gives us access to @currumbinsanctuary. We've held annual memberships here for the past 5 years, but our passes ran out last July. We hadn't renewed as we had both other theme parks at the time, but we've really missed our time here! Our Village Theme park passes ran out last week, so everything aligned for us to return to our beloved @currumbinsanctuary. Reasons we love an annual membership here? - my kids love animals, and there are so many exhibits and encounters available - the playground and water splash park are fun additions - who doesn't love a ride on the choo-choo train? - lots of investment recently in the park, which fabulous facilities, accessibility and enclosures - free parking, plus 15% off food, drinks, retail and experiences - free access to 1000 National Heritage sites around Australia Tell me, when was the last time you visited @currumbinsanctuary, and what passes do your family have?
This Easter weekend, Broadbeach Bricks has taken o This Easter weekend, Broadbeach Bricks has taken over the Broadbeach Mall! There are fun workshop sessions hosted by @clickingbricks_au on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. These do technically require bookings and are sold out, however, if you get there and line up at the start of a session, they will allow walk ins to make up for no shows, and our session had about 75% no show!!! Families can also take part in the FREE Broadbeach Bricks Treasure Hunt, held daily from 10:30 AM to 2:30 PM, where participants search for hidden codes in the precinct for a chance to win prizes. No bookings are required. Drop into the Information Desk at Broadbeach Mall Stage between 10.30am and 2pm to get started! Grab 3hrs free parking at @theoasisbroadbeach, check out the cafes and have some fun at @leveluparcade_broadbeach, it's the perfect family-friendly outing this Easter weekend!
