Saturday 7 June, 11am - 3pm 168 Fernberg Road, Paddington, Brisbane This family-friendly event sees the historic grounds of Fernberg open up—the official residence of the Governor of Queensland. Interactive displays and activities from Surf Life Saving Queensland, Tennis Queensland, and Bowls Queensland Children’s activities such as face painting, colouring in, and readings of A Place for All Queenslanders, the Government House children’s book. The ceremonial aspects of the day will include a flag-raising ceremony, ceremonial guard, and a town crier. Live music will add to the atmosphere, featuring performances from Brisbane Metropolitan Bands Inc., Brisbane Excelsior Band, Brisbane Jazz Club Swing Central, the Army and Navy Bands, and the Queensland Irish Pipe Band. A range of food and refreshments will be available for purchase, or feel free to BYO picnic. Take the opportunity to explore the historic Government House through self-guided tours or join a guided garden tour led by our expert horticulture team.
