Logan Gardens in Logan Central is a spacious community park that is worth a visit from the Gold Coast thanks to the fantastic free splash pad and playground. On a hot day, it’s the perfect place to cool off while still enjoying plenty of outdoor play and open space.
The splash pad at Logan Gardens has been thoughtfully designed to cater for children of all ages. There’s a zero-depth splash zone with shallow water that makes it a safe and confidence-boosting option for younger kids, alongside interactive totem poles that shoot out playful jets of water. The pop jet plaza adds to the fun, with fountains and ground sprays that encourage kids to run, jump and explore, while the large dumping bucket delivers regular squeals of delight as it tips water over the play area. Much of the splash pad is covered by shade sails, which helps provide some relief from the sun and makes it more comfortable for longer visits.
The water play area operates seasonally, generally throughout the warmer months. It’s free to use, making it an easy and budget-friendly outing, though it’s important to note there are no lifeguards on duty, so active supervision of children is essential.
One of the big bonuses of Logan Gardens is how well set up it is for families planning to stay a while. Toilets, picnic tables and BBQ facilities are located nearby, making it simple to turn a splash pad visit into a full morning or afternoon outing. Just next to the water play you’ll also find a treehouse-inspired playground with swings and climbing challenges, giving older kids and siblings plenty to do once they’ve had enough of the water. There is also a small fenced toddler playground, which could do with a bit of a spruce up, but was still functional for the little ones.
Beyond the splash pad and playground, Logan Gardens offers basketball courts, picnic areas and fitness equipment. It’s a multi-use park that works just as well for a relaxed family day as it does for a quick play stop.
If you’re planning a visit, Logan Gardens is best enjoyed on a warm day when the splash pad is switched on, swimmers are packed, and everyone’s ready to cool off with a splash.
