With a fabulous combination of parklands and walking tracks, the green space at Arundel Springs is perfect for young families. Situated on the edge of the Coombabah Lakelands nature reserve, kids can play on the playground or you can take the bikes for a ride along the many paths and spot the local wildlife.
The playground is simple, but spread along the edge of a large green oval, perfect for running around on. You’ll find a number of climbing nets, a slide, 2 swing sets, jumping stones and some spinners. There is a large gazebo overlooking the playground, so it’s a great spot for a picnic and a play.
Follow the path down to the entrance to the Coombabah Lakelands nature reserve, and through a small gate you’ll find a number of concrete pathways to explore with information signs along the way. This is a great spot to see kangaroos, wallabies and all sorts of bird life. There is a short loop or a longer loop, depending on how far you feel like walking! Very pram friendly, you can walk or ride bikes and scooters around the reserve. Dogs are not permitted however. There are also a number of shelters you can stop and sit down at along the way.
If you’re looking for a spot to get out for a walk or a ride, this would have to be one of my favourites. It’s so nice in the nature reserve, and the added bonus of a play on the playground means everyone is kept happy!
