Bill Thomson Park, Elanora

Bill Thomson Park at Elanora is popular with the kids thanks to the fun medieval theme, with turrets and bridges to explore the castle! A huge flying fox runs along the lakeside of the playground, there are internal and external slides, a great swing set and plenty of imaginative play opportunities.

While not fully accessible (you do need to be able to climb a ladder to reach the castle), once you are on the castle everything is connected by platforms and sturdy bridges, which makes this playground great for those unsteady on their feet in particular. It’s also a fabulous opportunity for those keen on imaginative play.

The playground is set in the middle of the parklands, which also includes a lake, basketball court, picnic shelter and public toilets. There is no fence so if you do have a runner be warned – however there is quite a bit of a distance between the park and the lake.
