Kings Forest Playground, Cudgen

If you’re looking for a playground that truly justifies a little extra drive time from the Gold Coast, Kings Forest Playground at Cudgen absolutely delivers. It’s been a long time since the Tweed had a playground that could genuinely rival some of the Gold Coast’s best — but this one is a solid 10/10.

Designed to cater for all age groups, Kings Forest Playground is the kind of park where everyone finds something to love, from adventurous primary schoolers to busy toddlers (and appreciative parents!).

The first thing you’ll notice is the huge main play tower, standing around six levels high. It’s an instant magnet for older kids, with two slides and loads of interactive play elements built throughout the structure. There’s plenty to climb, explore and discover, making it ideal for kids who love a challenge and a bit of height.

Right next to the main tower is a fun climbing course that suits a wide range of ages. It’s a great in-between space for kids who want to test their balance and coordination without committing to the full height of the main tower.

Then comes the standout for families with younger children — what is easily one of the best toddler playgrounds around. Thoughtfully designed at the perfect height for easy parent supervision, this area features sturdy yet challenging bridges, climbing structures, slides and even trampolines. It’s engaging without being overwhelming, and ideal for confident toddlers and preschoolers.

Finally, don’t forget to bring the scooters and bikes. The pump track here is fantastic, with wide pathways, a mix of hills and bumps, and long straight stretches. It caters beautifully to everyone from toddlers on balance bikes through to confident primary school riders.

Kings Forest Playground at Cudgen is also well set up for a comfortable visit, with:

  • Toilets on site
  • Shade sails over play areas
  • Plenty of street parking nearby

If you’ve been waiting for a Tweed playground that’s genuinely worth the hype, this is it. Trust me — take the drive and check out Kings Forest Playground at Cudgen.
