The brand-new Lorikeet Park at SkyRidge has officially opened, and I was lucky enough to be one of the first to explore it! This major new parkland is one of the largest community parks in the region, and after visiting, it’s easy to see why.
The first thing you’ll notice is the stunning, larger-than-life Lorikeet sculpture spreading its wings over the Junior Playground. Underneath this colourful bird is a fun little world of play — a fort, slide and plenty of interactive features, including water pumps that kids are already obsessed with. It’s a beautifully designed area that encourages imaginative and hands-on play.
Right next door is the bigger playground, perfect for older kids wanting a bit more thrill. Expect big climbing challenges, large slides, and a flying fox that will be a guaranteed favourite. It’s spacious, well-planned and made for adventurous play.
One of the standout features of Lorikeet Park is the spectacular view. The park overlooks the estate and stretches all the way to the Gold Coast skyline and Pacific Ocean — from Southport down to Burleigh Heads. Whether you’re here for a play, a picnic or just taking in the scenery, the outlook is genuinely breathtaking.
SkyRidge’s major parkland has been designed with the whole community in mind. Here are just some of the features of Lorikeet Park:
- Playgrounds suitable for toddlers through to teens
- Family-friendly BBQ and picnic spaces
- Car parking and toilet facilities
- Insta-worthy lookouts
- Large open green spaces
- 500-person amphitheatre — perfect for moonlight cinemas, music concerts and Christmas celebrations, all set against that stunning coastal backdrop.
Lorikeet Park is a huge win for the community and a beautiful addition to the Gold Coast’s outdoor spaces. Whether you’re coming for a play, a walk or a view, this is definitely a spot you’ll want to check out.
