‘It’s fun to BEE one’ First birthday party theme

    April 15, 2022

First birthday party themes are my favourite! It's fun to BEE one is a cute bee themed party for boys or girls to celebrate their bee-day! I loved incorporating the colours yellow, black and green, to remind people of a sunny field of flowers, abuzz with bees.

Lapping up the very last of the holidays! A mornin Lapping up the very last of the holidays! A morning in the sunshine at @westfieldcoomera Backyard hit the spot perfectly!
Whether you’re like me with a Prep starting scho Whether you’re like me with a Prep starting school for the first time, or a seasoned parent with kids off for another year, there are bound to be some nerves as we prepare for the first day at school.

To help kick start the excitement and hopefully calm a few of those nerves, I wanted to put together a little ‘first day of school’ gift for my Preppy! Here are 3 first day of school gifts that I hope will help him to feel more confident as he starts this new journey. You can download all the printables at my latest blog post if you want to do something for your child too!

1- Ready Confetti
Suitable for any student, starting any year level, print out this little sign and pop it into a ziplock bag with some confetti. Then, when they go to bed read the poem to them and sprinkle some confetti under their pillow to help with their night before school dreams.

2- Hug Button
For some children, being away from their parents all day is a big change that brings lots of emotions. A Hug Button is for him to pop in his pocket and squeeze if he needs a little reminder that we are thinking of him. I made this card and stuck on a spare button I had.

3. @littlelearnerseducation My First Year Book
A very special gift for those in their first year of school! Not your normal keep sake memory book, this book is designed for you to complete with your little learner. See the amazing talent of your first year student develop each term as they write their name, draw pictures about their days and explore their writing skills. At the end of the year you have a book to keep and look back on that magical first year. Code LARA10 gets you a discount (book was gifted to me)

Ready to start Prep ~ well, almost 🙈 The unifor Ready to start Prep ~ well, almost 🙈
The uniforms are purchased, the stationery is labelled and lunch boxes ready. New shoes adorn those growing feet, but uh oh... how do we deal with shoelaces!?

Yup, we've got shoelaces to deal with. 2 days a week he wears his formal uniform including lace up school shoes. No velcro allowed 🙅‍♀️ I'm not expecting miracles... but anyone got tips for teaching lace tying??

Bill Thomson Park at Elanora is very much loved by Bill Thomson Park at Elanora is very much loved by locals! With a medieval theme, you'll find plenty of turrets and bridges connecting the playground together to create one large castle.

The playground is set in the middle of the parklands, which also includes a lake, basketball court, flying fox, picnic shelter and public toilets. Find out more about the park at the link in bio!
Have you got a little adventurer on your hands too Have you got a little adventurer on your hands too?

His whole life we've always gone on our 'family adventures', and he's definitely keen on the lifestyle. He refused to take off his first @nixandash felt fedora when we got it because it was his adventure hat (we're now on to his 2nd, larger hat and it's still the same!!).

Today was our last Mummy & Boys adventure day before Prep starts, and I really tried to slow down and soak it all in. (We have interstate visitors with us now til school starts). As soon as I said we were going on an animal adventure, he ran and grabbed his camera! This was a xmas present and the perfect gift for him. He snapped away at all the animals, took pictures of me and his brother, and chatted nonstop about what he could see.

I had a smile on my face the whole time. This is what the last 5 years have been about. I gave up my career and spent every day by the side of this beautiful little soul and I wouldn't change it for a moment. Seeing his confidence, his enthusiasm for exploring, and his joy for discovery tells me it was a job well done. You're about to start a new adventure my darling child, and while I'll be one step behind you this time, I know you'll be just fine.

(Because I know I'll get asked, I'll link the camera in stories!!)
