    November 26, 2020

Coronet Park at Burleigh Waters has long featured in my post Learn to ride tracks for Gold Coast Kids, and is a highlight of all the bike tracks on the Gold Coast.

@the_gc_show is here for 2025! Who took advantage @the_gc_show is here for 2025! Who took advantage of the public holiday and hit up the show? Felt like most of the GC was there today!

We went early to beat the heat and the crowds. Kids loved looking at the displays and checking out the showbags. I still prefer the true agricultural shows, I feel the GC show is a bit commercial and missing the heart of what makes a show. But you can't beat free entry and a fabulous location, so it's always worth a visit.

Heads up, Carey Park is $10 flat rate parking, the meters are not operating! Catch the tram if you want to beat the traffic, or head down early before all the carparks fill up.
@youfoodz are here to save the day! Lunches are my @youfoodz are here to save the day! Lunches are my pain point - I never know what I feel like, don't have time to prep something, and end up snacking instead of eating a proper meal. I've tried @youfoodz before and loved them, so it was time to bring it back! Queue 12 well balanced lunches sorted for just $10 a meal. For the past two weeks, all I've had to think about when it comes to lunch is what to pick next! Every single option has tasted delicious, included high quality ingredients, and kept me full for longer. The best part - no last minute snacking or poor choice lunches!

Some of my fave options have been mediterranean chicken and risoni, or the chicken and thai green sauce, but there are over 20 different options to choose from so you'll have no difficulty finding something you like. Having @youfoodz has kept me on track and I'm loving it. Now, when's my next delivery?

If you're interested in giving YouFoodz a try, click the link in stories or at my bio link to get up to $200 off your first 5 boxes!
Robert Dalley Park in Helensvale received an upgra Robert Dalley Park in Helensvale received an upgrade recently, and it's such a fun playground now!

There are lots of climbing opportunities, and 2 big slides. A musical corner, balancing objects, and swings too! This playground is fabulous for all ages - particularly thanks to the enclosed staircases making it easy to climb to the top!

This is the home of the Helensvale Hornets, so it can get busy on game days, keep that in mind!

The strawberry season is finally here, and pick yo The strawberry season is finally here, and pick your own options are starting to open up! I've pulled together 3 different options with prices for you - spoiler: you will need to travel a bit for the best value, unfortunately the Gold Coast isn't great for growing strawberries! But some great school holiday options to consider for a day trip.

1- Chambers Flat Strawberry Farm
912 Chambers Flat Rd, Chambers Flat
The closest option for Gold Coasters, they are open on Thursday's for Pick Your Own between 9am and 5pm. Keep your eyes on their booking page for other days that open up for bookings depending on strawberry availability and weather. Bookings are essential, no walk ins. Pick Your Own is $16.50 per person to enter, with each person receiving a 500g punnet to fill (adults and children same price). Children (0-12) must be accompanied by a paying adult. Infants (0-2yrs) are free of charge with a paying adult, but do not get their own punnet. There is no eating in the fields. Bookings at https://chambersflatstrawberryfarm.com.au/.

2- @oasis_berries_pyo
434 Bribie Island Road, Caboolture
This is a great school holiday outing. $40 to fill a box (covers 5 people, additional people are $5 each), they don't weigh the boxes or time your session, so take as long as you need to fill it up as much as you can, and you can also eat as much as you want while in the fields! 2025 Season will start on 20th of September and they will be open every day during the school holiday till 6th of October.

3- Wamuran Pick Your Own
165 Newlands Rd, Wamuran
This is a small family run pick your own farm. They generally open in September, but have announced that they will be open from this weekend! $8 for Children with 250g punnet, $15 for Adult with 500g punnet. No prior booking needed, just turn up on the day. Check their Facebook page for details as they will open and close depending on strawberry availability.
Another successful year of Book Week celebrations! Another successful year of Book Week celebrations! The rain dampened our parade a little bit, but the school had an excellent back up plan and the show went on!

We started planning Hiccup's costume about a month ago, when I searched for something ready made and only came up with options that were big $$$. After some inspiration from @makeitandloveit, a trip to @spotlightstores for some vinyl, and a bit of work with the sewing machine, velcro and fabric glue - I think we did ok!

Also super proud of my boy's dragon drawing! He did this all himself and it's exceptional. Will now hang on his bedroom wall 🐲

My littlest joined his first parade too, he's very shy, but did so well in his favourite dragon costume 💙

Tucked alongside one of the main streets of Helens Tucked alongside one of the main streets of Helensvale, many drive straight past Lions Park at Helensvale without realising what this gem has to offer! Families with kids ranging in ages will love this spot, as there is enough equipment to occupy the youngest through to the eldest of children. Got a ninja warrior on hand? This will also be the park for you, with it’s parkour inspired equipment keeping even the most skilled climber occupied for hours!

The main feature of this playground is the giant pirate ship inspired fort, with look-outs, a net bridge and a mega slide! Little ones will not be able to tackle this equipment, as the only way up is to climb the nets! To the side of this you’ll find the parkour cube, with rope monkey bars, rock climbing wall and swinging obstacles to tackle ninja warrior style.

For the little ones, there is a bunch of equipment perfectly suited to toddlers or early primary students. Choose between the mini fort and slide, bumble bee rocker, see-saw, wobble boards, swing set and rope spinner. All of this set out underneath big shady trees, providing shade and a nice breeze.

In terms of facilities, this park ticks all the boxes. You’ll find picnic shelters, a toilet block, water fountain and BBQ all located alongside the playground.
