‘It’s fun to BEE one’ First birthday party theme

    April 15, 2022

First birthday party themes are my favourite! It's fun to BEE one is a cute bee themed party for boys or girls to celebrate their bee-day! I loved incorporating the colours yellow, black and green, to remind people of a sunny field of flowers, abuzz with bees.

The mum taxi certainly gets a work out these days The mum taxi certainly gets a work out these days – school, sport, library, weekend adventures – and when we’re all spending so much time getting in and out of the car, it’s only natural that the stuff starts to pile up! Shoes, hats, socks, sticks – so many sticks.

Things were starting to get a bit out of hand and it was time to call in the big guns. Noah from @goldcoastmobiledetailing came direct to my driveway with every tool needed to clean out the dirt, sand, grime and STICKS, giving this mum taxi the full scrub down to return her to her former glory.

If you’re like me and the car situation is getting a bit out of hand, why not treat yourself to a little glow up? It’s been 4 years since I had my car deep cleaned, and boy do I wish I did this sooner. You would not BELIEVE how much sand came out of those floor mats! Now, another day on the road doesn’t seem so bad!

@goldcoastmobiledetailing is offering @mrslardeedah followers 10% off services for a limited time. So if you're looking for a last minute Mother's Day present, or want to treat yourself, be sure to book in now and mention @mrslardeedah to grab your discount!

The @kalbarsunflowers Festival is an annual 3-day The @kalbarsunflowers Festival is an annual 3-day festival held around April/May, and this hugely popular event always sells out! We've been lucky to go a few times, and each year, the Festival somehow is even better than the last!

Family-friendly, the main sunflower field has a maze of sorts cut into it, allowing you to walk through and discover creative and fun photo opportunities and props. You can pick your own sunflowers, book a mini shoot with a photographer, or simply wander and explore! The fairy garden and sensory garden are also hugely popular.

The Festival also features a wide variety of food trucks, a huge market with beautiful and unique artisan products, live music, and the Kids Hub. Here there are craft stations, gardening activities and a petting zoo. The kids will also love all the photo props around!

Given how many people come through this Festival, it is exceptionally well organised and run. Parking is smooth and easy, plenty of shaded seating and toilets. Kids are free, and the adult entry fee is well spent!

If you're keen to head along next year, be sure to sign up to @kalbarsunflowers newsletter so you get first word of when ticket sales go live - they sell out on release day every year!!

I’ve searched high and low to deliver a comprehe I’ve searched high and low to deliver a comprehensive and up to date list (as at April 2025) of all the Kids Eat Free options on the Gold Coast!! Jump over to my bio and click the link, or it's live in my Stories! Any time you visit www.mrslardeedah.com just search Kids Eat Free!

We all know how hard it can be to eat out with kids – often the sooner a meal out is complete, the better! However, there are so many places that are making eating out for families a much better experience – kids eat free, kids meals, kids entertainment, high chairs and priority service are just a few things that restaurants are offering in order to woo you over and get you dining with them.

As always, best to check with the venue when booking in case things have changed – just in case! If you do know of any that I’ve missed, or find out something is outdated, I’d love it if you left a comment below or shoot me a message so I can keep this updated and helpful for all Gold Coast families!

Enjoy and bon appétit.
