You don’t need to be a car lover to enjoy a visit to the Gold Coast Motor Museum in Upper Coomera. Set in the foothills on the way to Tamborine Mountain, this hidden gem combines history, wide open space and seriously good dining.
Inside the museum you’ll find an impressive private collection of cars and motorbikes dating from 1900 to 1988. From horse-drawn buggies and vintage fire engines to a De Lorean and everything from Holden to Lamborghini, it’s a fascinating walk through automotive history.
But for many families, the real highlight is next door at Stanley’s Barn.
This family-friendly restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner in a relaxed country setting. The best seats are on the patio overlooking the huge lawn — perfect for letting the kids run around while you enjoy a quality meal. It’s one of those rare spots where great food and family dining genuinely come together.
Before you leave, pop by the animal pen near the carpark to visit the resident alpacas and goats — always a hit with the kids.
Whether you’re heading up the mountain or looking for somewhere different for lunch, Stanley’s Barn makes this more than just a museum visit — it’s a relaxed, scenic family day out.
