The highlight of this park is definitely the bike track, incorporating traffic signs, a petrol station, fire station and small pump track. Don't forget the bikes or scooters on this visit!

@corteo.cirquedusoleil has arrived in Brisbane, ju @corteo.cirquedusoleil has arrived in Brisbane, just in time for the school holidays!! We headed along for opening night, and what an incredible show packed full of whimsy and wonder!

In Corteo, Mauro, the dreamer clown, envisions that his own funeral will take place amid a carnival atmosphere and be attended by tender angels. While looking back on his personal experiences, he is met with multiple characters from his past in a joyful celebration of his life. But, could it all be a dream? The show contrasts the grand with the intimate, the silly with the tragic, and the beauty of perfection with the appeal of imperfection.

A family-friendly show, there are still tickets available for performances in Brisbane up until September 28.
Have your kids seen the Gold Coast's very own Big Have your kids seen the Gold Coast's very own Big Foot?

Many will have driven past Macintosh Island Park at Main Beach, but those who stopped to take a look will have discovered this hidden oasis in the midst of Surfers Paradise! Big shady trees, cascading streams running through the park, pathways perfect for little ones to ride their bikes on, and many birds including the beautiful peacocks who call this spot home. The playground could do with an upgrade, but the kids still love it - and of course, the highlight is Big Foot in his cave hidden by the little bridge over a bubbling brook!

Set right by the Nerang River with a little sandy shore, there are plenty of toilets, BBQs, and parking, bring the mozzie spray and go exploring!

@swellsculpture Festival is on again for 2025 and @swellsculpture Festival is on again for 2025 and even though Cyclone Alfred has meant some changes for the layout, I think this year is the best yet!! The new changes are significant, but make for such an enjoyable experience.

Firstly, there are very few sculptures on the beach. There are a handful at the Currumbin Creek mouth, but none along Currumbin Beach. Unfortunately the erosion is too extensive and at high tide there is little sand left.

To compensate for this, SWELL has extended further past @currumbinbeachvikings surf club, along the ocean way to Flat Rock Tugun, Len Wort Park and Kropp Park. In this area, you'll find heaps of sculptures on the beach, most of the interactive experiences, as well as the kids zone. There are 2 small playgrounds here too, so this end is definitely where the families want to be!

As usual, parking is hectic and people are everywhere. I'd suggest this year parking near Tomewin Street and Teemangum Streets. Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary has $10 parking available. We started at the surf club, walked up and back on the esplanade, then walked the oceanway to Flat Rock and finished in the family zone.

Absolutely loved this year's experience and hope it continues in this new layout in future!
We've been to 2 parties at @gameovergc recently - We've been to 2 parties at @gameovergc recently - once you hit 7 it seems to be all the rage! When I shared this video the other day I had so many of you asking about the kids go karting. Yep, that's my 7yo nailing his first ever time driving a go kart!

At @gameovergc you can race the kids karts from 7-12yrs of age. Kids can only race kids. If your child is under 7yrs of age, but taller than 90cm, they can ride in a dual kart, with an adult driving - but they will be in an adult race with other adult drivers.

@gameovergc also has clip n climb, laser tag, mini golf, and an arcade. To say it's a kids' party haven is an understatement! They're located at Helensvale, just off the M1. Highly recommend!
SCHOOL HOLIDAY MOVIE REVIEW + GIVEAWAY! Sketch, PG SCHOOL HOLIDAY MOVIE REVIEW + GIVEAWAY! Sketch, PG, 1hr 31min, in cinemas 11 Sept.

When a grieving teenager discovers she can bring her drawings to life, she accidentally unleashes both wondrous and terrifying creations into her small town. With the help of unlikely friends – both human and hand-drawn – she must harness her imagination to save those she loves.

Sketch is a movie that centres around children dealing with trauma, grief and negative feelings, delivering its message in a creative and powerful way that is rarely seen in family movies. For this alone, I highly recommend the movie! However, I would suggest this movie is for children no younger than 7-8yrs. The characters that come to life are visually quite scary, and there are many jump scares throughout the movie - I'd almost say it's a children's thriller! I'd compare this to a Goosebumps style movie, mixed with the messaging of Inside Out. The scariness of their appearance is balanced well with great humour and anecdotes in the script, and I found my 7yo was laughing along as the creatures are defeated. The monsters appear on screen as literal drawings that are defeated with water and other things that clean up art supplies and there's no actual death or harm shown from the monsters.

This is a fantastic family film for the school holidays, that will spark conversation and creativity. Check out the movie trailer first, and talk to your kids about what you're heading in to so they are prepared. But no doubt, you will all enjoy it! There's also an app Sketch that you can download and it will turn your kids drawings into real life animations! Keeping the fun of the movie going, my kids loved seeing their creations moving - yep, that's his flying monkey and boy riding a wolf!

GIVEAWAY: I've got 5x family passes (Admit 4) to see Sketch at a cinema of your choice! To win, all you have to do is comment below with one of the creepiest or craziest creatures your child has ever drawn, and tag a friend. Closes Thursday 7pm. Winner will be tagged here and asked to DM. Don't click any links!!
