3 meaningful first day of school gifts to help beat the nerves

Whether you’ve got a Prep starting school for the first time, or you’re a seasoned parent with kids off for another year, there are bound to be some nerves as we prepare for the first day at school. To help kick start the excitement and hopefully calm a few of those nerves, here are 3 first day of school gifts to help your child feel more confident as they start a new school year!

1. Ready Confetti

First, we’ve got our Ready Confetti! Suitable for any student, starting any year level, print out this little sign and pop it into a ziplock bag with some confetti. Then, when they go to bed read the poem to them and sprinkle some confetti under their pillow to help with their night before school dreams.

2. Hug Button

For some children, being away from their parents all day is a big change that brings lots of emotions. I’ve put together this little Hug Button for him to pop in his pocket and squeeze if he needs a little reminder that we are thinking of him. I printed out this card I made and stuck on a spare button I had. You could use anything though, even a little cut out circle or heart with their name written on it!

3. My First Year Book

Next is a very special gift for those in their first year of school! Not your normal keep sake memory book, this book is designed for you to complete with your little learner. See the amazing talent of your first year student develop each term as they write their name, draw pictures about their days and explore their writing skills. At the end of the year you have a book to keep and look back on that magical first year.
