Gainsborough Parklands, Pimpama

The Gainsborough Greens estate in Pimpama will at it’s completion have 32 hectares of parkland space!! That’s a lot of parks, and some great playgrounds.

The Gainsborough Parklands is a 15 hectare precinct off Kosciuszko Circuit, Pimpama that includes a playground, table tennis tables, picnic tables, basket ball court, parking for over 150 cars, two full-size AFL fields, an enclosed dog off leash area and eventually – a sporting clubhouse and toilet facilities.

The modern, sports themed local playground is a big hit with the local kids, busy enough that the little ones can make some friends, but never too busy that it feels crowded. Start with the small, toddler sized playground which includes swings, a slide, musical drums and a xylophone. Separating this from the bigger playground is an oversized cricket pitch – an astroturfed area with giant stumps and a cricket ball, all designed for imaginative play and climbing.

Over in the area for the bigger playground, you’ll find a climbing net with obstacles in it, swinging steps to climb and a big slide. There is also a spinner suitable for all ages. Wrapping around the entire park is a twisting bike path, suitable for scooters or trikes. Table tennis fans should bring their paddles and balls and have themselves a game on the two table tennis tables available too.

If the playground isn’t enough, bring along a basketball or a soccer ball and make use of the basketball court or the full-size AFL fields! There is so much room for kids to run! While there are no toilets on site yet, there are plans for them to come when the clubhouse construction commences. There are plenty of picnic tables and a huge amount of carparking available.
