Finding a fenced playground that isn’t completely packed can feel like a bit of a win when you have toddlers. Jack Wilson Park in Robina is a quiet neighbourhood playground with a fun train theme, plenty of space to run around and, importantly, a fully fenced play area.
The playground is looking a little tired these days, but there is an upgrade expected in the next few years, so it’s one to keep on your radar rather than one I’d recommend specifically for brand-new equipment.
There are two play structures, making it suitable for a range of ages from younger toddlers through to primary school children.
The first structure is train-themed, with a tunnel, low-level climbing opportunities and a small slide. It’s perfect for imaginative play, particularly for little ones who are obsessed with trains!
The second structure offers more of a challenge for bigger kids, with monkey bars, climbing equipment, a flying fox and a larger slide. There’s also a swing set and a couple of motorbike-themed rockers.
One of the things I love most about this park is the shade. The playground itself is well covered, which makes a big difference on a sunny Gold Coast day. The downside? It’s a sand-based playground, so expect to find it absolutely everywhere afterwards!
Just outside the fenced playground you’ll also find a little fairy ring, adding another spot for imaginative play. The surrounding parkland is spacious too, so bring a ball if your kids need a bit more room to burn off some energy.
With its fencing, shade and large open grounds, Jack Wilson Park is a handy local option for families with young children, particularly if you’re after somewhere quieter than some of the Gold Coast’s more popular playgrounds. And with an upgrade on the horizon, it’s worth checking back on as the park gets a refresh.
