Emerald Lakes Parklands is home to an exciting, inclusive and engaging play space like no other! While the Emerald Lakes Parklands have always been known as a beautiful, large space perfect for an early morning walk, picnic or for the kids to ride their bikes, the fully fenced all abilities playground really is the cherry on top.
Designed to enable access for all abilities, the play structure is based around a central ramp structure. Given the need for a gentle slope, it’s quite an expansive playground! With a short series of climbing sections, the playground then peaks at a short bridge walk to the main tower and slide.
Along the way, kids will find two other slides, smaller climbing webs, interactive play panels and a number of climbing and sitting options – perfect for taking a short break during play. There is also a swing set, spinner and see-saw. Being an all abilities playground, the addition of a number of “chat boards” on the fence around the playground are a wonderful addition to see, encouraging children to bridge any difficulties that may exist when engaging with each other.
The playground is fully fenced with only one entry and exit point. It is fully covered by shade sails and there are a number of shade trees around as well. Due to the parklands being built on flood plains, the area can get quite wet after heavy rains so be aware – although the playground itself is raised. Easily located within walking distance to the French Quarter, you can also grab a cup of coffee.
