If you have a little runner who is easily bored at playgrounds, Kuring Gai Park in Robina is worth adding to your list. This fully fenced playground has plenty of interactive elements alongside the usual climbing and sliding equipment, giving kids lots to explore.
Kuring Gai Park is a quiet little spot tucked alongside a beautiful lake. Keep an eye out for waterbirds as you walk around — you may even spot a pelican or swan enjoying the water. Right beside the lake is the fenced playground, with plenty of shade and a good variety of activities.
Little musicians will love the giant xylophone and drums, while there are plenty of other interactive features to discover. Kids can challenge each other to Connect 4 or noughts and crosses, work their way through a spinning ball maze and experiment with all sorts of moving pieces that spin, slide and move up and down.
The main playground has two slides, a swing set, rope bridge and climbing nets, so there is plenty here for kids who need a little more physical activity.
The setting is one of the best things about this playground. It’s peaceful, there is a lovely breeze coming off the lake and the playground has a good amount of shade. It makes Kuring Gai Park a particularly nice option when you’re looking for somewhere to get the kids outside without heading to one of the Gold Coast’s bigger, busier playgrounds.
The playground has been around for a little while now, but remains a fun option for families looking for a fenced play space with plenty of variety.
Tip: Take a walk around the lake while you’re there and keep an eye out for the local birdlife.
