Sickle Park, Hope Island

Sickle Park at Hope Island could also be known as the tunnel park! Challenging young climbers with its 12m long net tunnel, this is a great park for something different!

The feature of this canal front park in Hope Island is definitely the tunnel, snaking its way through the sandy playground. Alongside it stands the old playground which is really great to see, as it’s perfect for the younger kids who might find the tunnel too difficult to get through. Simple stairs and a slide, but enough for the toddlers. There is also a merry-go-round style spinner, swings and a few balancing elements scattered throughout.

Being on the canal, close supervision is definitely needed, however there is a huge grassy field on the opposite side of the playground that the kids can run about on, kicking a ball or playing other sports. The playground has a number of seats in shady spots of the playground, and there is a picnic shelter with BBQs by the water. Public toilets are located nearby at the Tennis Club.
