Sickle Park at Hope Island is home to two great playgrounds, with plenty of space to run and play, climb and explore!
The larger, purple and red coloured playground features a huge mega slide, a spinning climbing ball, plus a smaller play structure with open slide. There is also a really great flying fox – perfect for the older kids but also fun for the little ones. This one definitely needs adult assistance as it sits up quite high and kids need to climb a short ladder on to a platform to be able to reach the flying fox seat.
The second, blue coloured playground features a 12m long net tunnel for climbing! Alongside it stands a very small, older play structure for the younger kids. There is also a spinner, swings and a few balancing elements scattered throughout.
Being on the canal, close supervision is definitely needed, however there is a huge grassy field on the opposite side of the playground that the kids can run about on, kicking a ball or playing other sports. The playground has a number of seats in shady spots of the playground, and there is a picnic shelter with BBQs by the water. Public toilets are located nearby at the Tennis Club.
