With great themed messy play activities each week, there is bound to be a theme your kids will love. We visited during the very popular Dinosaur week and got busy playing with sensory trays and cleaning dirty dinosaurs. There are also a few role play areas, a great climbing and slide structure, a huge painting wall, the glow room and a very popular rice table! The best part about visiting The Messy Place? The weather has cooled and that means it’s time The weather has cooled and that means it’s time for one pot meals! I’m off to @aldiaustralia this Autumn, my go-to destination for everything that I need to create fresh and delicious meals for my family. We’re straight into one of my favourites, baked chicken in coriander and lime sauce, which is such a burst of flavour for the taste buds, but also wraps you up in a warm hug. Aldi never fails me for excellent quality at affordable prices, meaning I can create delicious meals for less. I particularly love one pot meals for their comforting flavour and warmth, and the ability to feed the family without all the dishes! For this recipe, we start by browning off the chicken and set aside, make the sauce, then throw it all in the pot together and pop it in the oven to finish off. Serve with pasta or your carb of choice and I guarantee everyone will be licking the plate clean! This autumn, choose ALDI for your fresh and seasonal products. Ingredients: 2-4 chicken breasts, depending on how many you’re serving 1 cup chicken stock 1tbsp lime juicd ½ chopped onion 1tbsp chopped coriander 3 tsp paprika 3 tbsp cream 2 tbsp butter Steps: Preheat oven to 180 degrees Celsius Season chicken with salt and pepper and cook in your pot til browned. Set to side. In your pot, add chicken stock, lime juice, onion, coriander and paprika. Bring to boil and reduce liquid to around ¼ cup. Reduce the heat and add cream and butter, stir til melted. Add the chicken back in, add in any veggies (I used broccolini) and pop in the oven for 15 minutes. The newest dining venue on the northern Gold Coast, Jane’s Rivertown will make you feel like you’ve stepped into Jane Tasman’s dining room. Watch out for the snapping crocodile, dine underneath chatty macaws, and grab your beverage beside the giant orangutang. Service was quick, friendly and menu adjustments no trouble. Jane’s Rivertown Restaurant is in the new Rivertown precinct at @dreamworldau and is open every Friday and Saturday night for dinner from 5.15pm. The @kalbarsunflowers Festival is an annual 3-day The @kalbarsunflowers Festival is an annual 3-day festival held around April/May, and this hugely popular event always sells out! We've been lucky to go a few times, and each year, the Festival somehow is even better than the last! Family-friendly, the main sunflower field has a maze of sorts cut into it, allowing you to walk through and discover creative and fun photo opportunities and props. You can pick your own sunflowers, book a mini shoot with a photographer, or simply wander and explore! The fairy garden and sensory garden are also hugely popular. The Festival also features a wide variety of food trucks, a huge market with beautiful and unique artisan products, live music, and the Kids Hub. Here there are craft stations, gardening activities and a petting zoo. The kids will also love all the photo props around! Given how many people come through this Festival, it is exceptionally well organised and run. Parking is smooth and easy, plenty of shaded seating and toilets. Kids are free, and the adult entry fee is well spent!
