Originally known for its incredible messy play experiences, The Messy Place has continued to grow and now offers the best of both worlds. Alongside its ever-changing sensory stations, you’ll now find a fantastic range of imaginative play spaces that give little ones even more opportunities to play, create and explore. Whether your child loves getting their hands messy or prefers dressing up, role-playing and letting their imagination run wild, there’s something here for every personality.
Walking into the centre, you’re greeted by a bright, colourful space that immediately feels welcoming. The messy play trays are always beautifully themed, encouraging children to scoop, pour, paint, mix and experiment at their own pace. There’s no right or wrong way to play here, which is something I really love. One child might spend the whole session making potions, while another happily paints themselves from head to toe!
One of my favourite additions is the imaginative play area. It’s packed with beautifully set-up role play spaces where kids can cook, shop, build, create and pretend for as long as they like. It adds another layer to the experience, making it a wonderful option for siblings or children with different play styles. The balance between sensory exploration and imaginative play is something that really sets The Messy Place apart.
Despite all the colour and activity, there’s something surprisingly calm about the space. Every time we’ve visited, the children have been completely absorbed in what they’re doing. It’s the kind of play that encourages focus, creativity and independence, while parents can actually sit, chat and enjoy watching their little ones explore.
Sessions run for 90 minutes with fresh themes and activities changing regularly, so every visit feels different. There are sessions for babies and toddlers right through to older children, plus school holiday programs and a fantastic range of birthday party options if you’re looking for something a little different.
