Set amongst the beautiful, leafy parklands at Paradise Point, the playground here has plenty to keep kids busy, with a mix of big physical challenges, imaginative play and quieter opportunities to explore. And while the impressive main play tower is undoubtedly the star of the show, there’s actually much more to discover around it.
The main tower is a great one for bigger kids, with plenty of climbing and two slides, while a smaller intermediate tower nearby gives younger children or those who aren’t quite ready for the biggest structure somewhere to play too. There are also swings, a spinner and plenty of open space around the play equipment.
One of my favourite things about this playground is that it doesn’t feel like everything has been concentrated into one giant structure. There are play opportunities winding through the gardens and beneath the established trees, including an in-ground trampoline, balancing obstacles and a seesaw.
There are also little discovery elements tucked throughout the playground, encouraging kids to slow down and look closely at what’s around them. Signs encourage them to count and search for things hidden amongst the rocks, adding a lovely element of exploration beyond the usual climbing and sliding.
For toddlers, there’s a separate little world to explore, with a small slide, tunnel and a very cute fish and chip shop for imaginative play. It’s tucked beneath the shade of the trees, which is particularly welcome on warmer Gold Coast days.
And speaking of shade, the setting really is one of the best things about Paradise Point Parklands. The playground is surrounded by mature trees and greenery, so it feels much more like a natural part of the parkland than a playground simply plonked in the middle of an open space. There’s plenty of room around the equipment too, giving kids space to run and explore once they’ve had enough of the climbing structures.
With the different levels of climbing, dedicated toddler area, swings, spinning equipment, trampoline, balancing activities and little discovery elements, there’s a good variety of play here for children of different ages and interests.
And of course, you’re also getting everything else that makes Paradise Point Parklands such a lovely family destination — family-friendly beach, leafy surrounds, plenty of space and a beautiful setting to spend some time outdoors.
