One of our favourite events of the year! Another f One of our favourite events of the year! Another fabulous day out at @botanicalbazaar. So much to see do, for those who don't know, it's an interactive Gardening and Sustainable living event aimed to educate and inspire all nature enthusiasts. Packed with incredible market stalls, plant sellers, guest speakers, kids activities, workshops, live music and food trucks - we always have the best time!
This castle themed playground at Tugun Park, Tugun This castle themed playground at Tugun Park, Tugun captures the imagination of knights and princesses young and old!

Packed with imaginative and role play elements, they can discover a Double Medieval Tower, a Drawbridge, a Knight and his Horse! There are battlements, banners, arrow slits, arches, shields and bridges, all sure to inspire fun and games.

While there is no shade over this playground, the location itself is very cool and shady, packed with large trees and covered picnic tables. It is not fully fenced, but a fence does run along the carpark side of the playground, while the open side opens to large grassy spaces. This is a great location for a birthday party, with numerous picnic tables and BBQs right by the playground, ample parking and of course, toilets! It's also our favourite place to wait for flights to land at Coolangatta Airport! Let the kids run around the playground until your flight lands, and be at the pick up area in less than 5 minutes - winning!

Clutter is one of my worst enemies – I honestly Clutter is one of my worst enemies – I honestly feel like I can’t think straight when there is too much clutter around! I’m always looking for opportunities to clear out things that we no longer need or use.

At the same time however, I don’t want to continually add to landfill, so I try to be smart about what I do with our pre-loved goods. I shared on Stories the other week about some tricks I had when it came to offloading my preloved items. Ensuring I donate to places that will benefit the most from each item makes me feel better about the waste! Here's a few Gold Coast options to keep in mind:

- @babygiveback is a Gold Coast charity helping families in crisis. They accept used items in excellent condition including: bassinets, baths, bottles and feeding items, breast pumps, baby carriers, car seats, change mats, cots, clothing, high chairs, linen, mattresses, nappy bags, portacots, prams, shoes, sleep suits and toys.

- @makewaysfoundation collect good quality, pre-loved sporting goods to support the opening of the very first not-for-profit Sports Store in Sierra Leone, West Africa. They can accept pre-loved running shoes, footy boots, street shoes, shoe laces, socks, hats, drink bottles, bags, active wear, team gear, balls, sports equipment, exercise equipment, recovery equipment and sports medicine

- @hm take clothes or textiles that are not suitable for rewear and turn into products such as remake collections or cleaning cloths, or shred into textile fibres and used to make for example insulation materials. You can get a 15% discount voucher for each bag you donate too!

Check out all the details at the link in my bio, or in stories.

@artvo_goldcoast is an immersive, ‘trick-art’ @artvo_goldcoast is an immersive, ‘trick-art’ gallery, located at @robinatowncentre. It’s great fun for the whole family and you’ll have so many amazing photos to share!

The idea of ArtVo is to explore an interactive art gallery filled with trick or illusion art. You can be creative and come up with your own poses, or follow the instructions to set up your own fail safe shot. Hidden away, you'll find it spread out over a large area on the upper floor of Robina Town Centre, next to The Kitchens. It's perfect for ages 0-100, and you can go at your own pace. I would estimate you could spend anywhere between 1-2 hours there, depending on how many photos you wanted to take!

Keep an eye on their socials as they often have specials going for discounted entry tickets 🙌 you can check out my full review at the link in my bio

For many families, the first taste of team sports For many families, the first taste of team sports is through soccer! @littlekickersgoldcoast is a soccer skills program, that also combines with important early learning concepts such as colour and number recognition, sharing, following instructions and using imagination.

There are four different classes available at a number of locations across the Gold Coast, each tailored to a different age group. Little Kicks (18mths – 2.5yrs); Junior Kickers (2.5yrs – 3.5yrs); Mighty Kickers (3.5yrs – 5yrs); Mega Kickers (5yrs – 8yrs). My 4yo was invited along to try out a Mighty Kickers class recently!

The class started out with some fun and simple warm up drills – a game of Freeze was the highlight – before quickly moving on to the first lot of skills based games. The coaches had no trouble keeping the class focused through engaging games, and the sounds of giggles and laughter was common! Skills including dribbling, stopping, throwing and kicking were taught, before wrapping the class up with some striking and defending games and a mini match.

What I loved about this was, coming from a very non-sporting family it didn’t feel like we were being thrust into the depths of hard-core soccer. The focus on delivering ball skills training through fun and play meant that this class would be suitable for anyone looking for an intro to sport – even if soccer doesn’t end up being the sport for you. The kids all had so much fun and had a great relationship with the coaches and their team mates – two of the most important things for our little ones I think!

You can find out more about our visit to Little Kickers Gold Coast and all the details on their classes at the link in my bio.

Hey there! It's been a while since I stopped and i Hey there! It's been a while since I stopped and introduced myself- the face behind the blog! I'm Lara, also known around these places as Mrs Lardeedah. I'm a stay home mum to 2 beautiful boys aged 1 & 4, and I love to share snippets of our life on the Gold Coast in the hopes of inspiring you to spend more quality time with your family.

Playground reviews, family friendly adventures, kids activities and great local eats - you'll find it all here. I also share some of my #mumlife tips and tricks to make life at home with the kids just that little bit easier! You can always deep dive into my content over at www.mrslardeedah.com, where I've got things like my playground map where you can search based on all sorts of categories!!

Now, I'd love to know a bit more about you! How many kids do you have, and what are their ages? Have you got any fave family adventures you found since following along here?
Pirate Park at Palm Beach has long been a family f Pirate Park at Palm Beach has long been a family favourite and after a $1.4m upgrade it's guaranteed to remain that way! The new Pirate Park is modern and engaging, and while best suited for ages 5 and over, younger ones haven’t been forgotten and there is definitely enough to go around for everyone.

Built to resemble a Pirate Ship, children can play over, on, around and under the main ship hull. Hugely popular with little ones were the interactive panels and ropes to swing from under the hull. Big kids will love to cross the rope bridges, climb the rope ladders and take on the mega slide! They can also walk the plank, fly on the flying fox, and pretend to fire the cannons.

Scattered around the pirate ship are other smaller play pieces including swings, spinning orb, miniature boats, cannons, treasure chests and a rope hammock. These are great for younger children and are on the soft fall rather than sand base. If you do venture down into the sand, be sure to get digging around the treasure chests – bones have been found! There is also a small slide set for younger children (although it’s quite steep still!).

Having just opened, this park is BUSY! Be mindful if you do check it out in the next few weeks that it will be busier than normal, but it's still enjoyable! See my full review with park details at the link in bio or in stories!
