Frascott Park is one of those places that gives you bang for your buck! With not one, but two playgrounds on site, a dog park, open fields and a pathway perfect for biking, there is a lot to do here. It’s no wonder then that this place is packed on weekends – try to plan your visit for a weekday – but thankfully there is still a lot of space to spread out and enjoy the parklands.

Accessed via Yodelay Street or Mattocks Road, the most popular part of the park is the new Safari themed playground (located closer to the Mattocks Rd entrance). Here you’ll find two play structures, one for the bigger kids and one for the toddlers. Hugely popular for birthday parties, on weekends you’ll struggle to get a table, but bring a picnic blanket and set up alongside the playground while you watch the kids. A huge slide and flying fox are keen favourites, while little ones will love driving the safari jeep and spotting elephants!

The second playground is located closer to Yodelay Street and has been around for some time. While it’s nothing new and fancy, those with smaller kids might prefer this playground. For our 2yo, this playground was ideal. With lots of trees around, it was shadier and a lot quieter, and everything was accessible for him without needing a boost from mum or dad! There are plenty of bridges to climb and a slide to go down, a merry go round, swing set and spider net round off the equipment here.

If you’ve got a dog, or have a little one who loves dogs – there is a dog agility off leash area here as well – we couldn’t leave without watching the dogs play for a while!!

While I tend to stay clear of the busy playgrounds, this one does have enough space that you can find a quiet spot away from the crowds. Otherwise definitely add this one to the list for a weekday visit!
